I'm not in Kansas anymore

I've come to the conclusion that I'm not in Kansas anymore. My next stop would be? The wizard of course.

But in all seriousness I really wonder what has become of morality and common sense in our culture? Take for example the first decision made by our newest justice, Alito. Now let me make a disclaimer... I'm not condemning justice Alito in any manner. I think he will make a fine justice and fully realize that every decision he makes I may or may not agree with. However, since his first decision made headline news I thought it was time to speak my opinion.

I find it quite ironic that the supreme court (and might I add I find nothing supreme about this court and better name would be the arrogant court) would find it within their constitutional responsibility to stop the execution of a convicted rapist and murderer of a 15 year old girl because the type of execution used might not be humane. But this (nearly) same court couldn't find it within their power to step in and stop an adulterous husband from executing his disabled wife by the inhumane act of starvation a few short months ago. Where is the justice in that? I personally find it quite a moronic view of justice.

Which brings me in full circle once again. I'm not in Kansas anymore.

I strongly resent the fact that the Republican party is pushing John McCain on the Conservative base of their party. If McCain wins the nomination, I am probably going to be one of many that will have to "hold their nose" while casting my vote for him. We would have to trust in God that he would appoint more conservative judges to the bench. The alternative would be to have Hillary or Obama win the Presidency and have the opportunity to appoint several liberal judges to our aging Supreme Court in the next few years. It would be a disaster!
